EcoKids help promote school fundraising and clothes recycling!

Friends of Crescent Primary School in Mansfield team up with EcoKids for the fifth time running!

The Friends of Crescent Primary in Mansfield teamed up with the Eco Kids Textile Recycling Project for the fifth time to raise much needed funds for a wooden gazebo and to promote the importance of recycling as part of the school’s commitment to sustainability.

Pupils, parents and local residents were encouraged to donate clean clothing, soft toys, paired shoes, handbags, costume jewellery, bedding, curtains and bric-a-brac items to the scheme.

Members of the Friends of Crescent Group including Chair, Sarah Morrell, pictured second left, were on hand last week to receive the donations ready for collection.   Pictured are members of the Friends of Crescent Group and School Ambassadors with some of the 116 bags that were donated for clothes recycling, raising £307.97 for the school’s Wooden Gazebo Fund.

Since Friends of Crescent chose EcoKids to help with their school fundraising two years’ ago £1,288.97 has been raised.  The group encourages all schools to check out the ECO Kids website in order to help with their school fundraisin, as this is a fantastic way of raising money for schools with no cost to school. All it takes is to hand out fliers to children (provided by EcoKids) and all associated with the school asking to donate a bag of unwanted clothing.  Why not give it a try!
