Clothes recycling helps charity raise funds

Throstle Nest Riding for the Disabled Group (Charity No. 1073620) have just received some much needed funds from Leeds based Ecokids. Ecokids make recycling and raising money easy and help to raise funds for schools and small charities not only all over Yorkshire but nationwide. Throstle Nest have been taking part in the scheme for three years and collect bags of recycled clothes, shoes, bedding, etc at their site in Fagley Lane, Bradford from where Ecokids pick up some three or four times a year. Alicia, riding Missy, is holding the latest certificate sent to the Throstle Nest Pony Club Centre branch congratulating them on having raised £262 for the disabled riders at the stables.

Sarah Hamilton from the RDA group says 'It is a fantastic boost to our funds to get nearly £1,000 over the course of the year from Ecokids. All the families involved in the pony club, riding school and RDA group bring us their jumble and Ecokids turn it into cash for us to spend on new equipment to make our rda lessons more exciting'.

Throstle Nest Riding School are still waiting to find out if a proposed housing development which would see 600 houses built on their site is going ahead. They are still planning a full programme of lessons, shows and events and intend to continue to fight the developers to preserve their site and fields.
